Funding Sessions

Universal Funding (15 hours)- All parents/ Carers are entitled to this per child

Parents that are claiming funding at more than one childcare provider need to inform both providers of this. It is important that we know how many hours are being claimed and which type of funding is being claimed to ensure ther are no over claims of funded hours. Each child must choose only one pattern across all settings for all their funded hours. This must be the same for both universal and extended hours. For instance: Provider A offers term time only hours and stretched hours. Provider B only offers term time only hours, and does not offer any stretched funding. If the child goes to both settings for funded hours, the child will need to be term time only across all settings, or choose to take funded hours at one setting and pay privately at the other. Following this if your child claims term time only at a preschool you will be charged full fees during school holidays as we are unable to offer the mixed approach we could before.

Additional Hours (30 hours)

Additional funded hours are available to those who meet the criteria as set out by the government. It is wholly the responsibility of the parent / carer to register for the additional hours and to keep a check on their eligibility. For further information and to register for the additional hours, please go to https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ where you can register and also find further information in regards to tax free child care (please be aware that signing for tax free child care can affect your tax credit payments if in receipt of this) As a setting at Folly Farm Day Nursery, we are offering additional hours of 10 hours per week over 50 weeks (add this to the universal hours this is an offering of 21 hours maximum per week). We have stretched the funding to cover the whole year as we do not offer Term Time only sessions, this is why funded sessions are chargeable but at a reduced cost.

Additional times such as 8am, 5.30pm and 6pm added onto a funded day / session are charged at our normal tariff rates. As Folly Farm Day Nursery is open from 8-6, the funding only covers part of your child's day. Funding is covered from the hours between 8.30-12, then starting again from 1-4.30. If your child did an 8.30-4.30 session, the extra payable cost would be the hour over lunch (12-1). Any additional hours out of the funded covered time are payable at full cost to the setting. Once your funding entitlement has been used, if your child/ren do more hours than funding stretches of either universal 11 or additional 10 (21 in total), you will be charged the usual daily rate that Folly Farm Day Nursery implements. Day rates of un funded hours are increased every January. Funded sessions are also increased minimally each September.
